Now if you're studying English Language A-Level, you'll know that there's a dearth of revision resources out there. I think this is for two reasons. First -it's much easier to talk about a text. In English language, resources tend to be copyrighted or simply not available. And the second is similar in that without examples it can be hard to explain what to do with all this stuff.
The best videos that I have found for A-Level Acquisition are by a student - Eleanor Hare.
I think she's done a great job.
The first video is about the main theories.
So to recap, there are four main theories.
Nativism (Noam Chomsky)
Behaviourism (B.F. Skinner)
Cognitivism (Jean Piaget)
Social Interactionism (Lev Vygotsky and Jerome Bruner)
This is the best of the three videos. I like it because it is concise and structured.
So child-directed speech linked with Bruner's Language Axcqisition Support System and ideas about routine and scaffolding.
